NLPD Walking Football

Walking football is a great way to help you to stay fit & potentially relieve some of the symptoms of Parkinson's.

We have a very good set up with Everton in the Community who put on a session every Monday 12.30-2pm at the Everton Hub. This is a very relaxed session which is more about enjoyment more than anything else. EiTC also offer other services and facilities for us to use.

Then on a Friday, we play at the Brunswick Centre in Bootle, from 11.15am-12.30pm. This is a fabulous session organised by Stuart Carrington & assisted by Keith Johnson, both of whom have great experience in football & are the management team of the Parkinson's England Walking Football Team. The warm ups, and drills are aimed at improving you as a player & preparing us for competitive play. Anyone with Parkinson's is welcome to join in. £1 per person.

Brilliantly supported by the fabulous NLPD wags the whites played well to win 2 & draw 1 group game before beating Fighting Fit in the semi final 2-0 and triumphing 2-0 in the final against our great rivals & friends Pennine Parkies!

Culcheth Cup 2023

On Saturday 23rd September, NLPD put a team into the Culcheth Cup. A 16 team able bodied tournament. Managed by Keith J, the lads put in a great performance to win 1, draw 1 & lose 1, and just missed out in making the knockout stage.

NLPD / Vital Energi kit launch

On Friday 28th July, Northern Lights walking football group hosted a tournament in Blackburn to celebrate the launch of the new kits, sponsored & supported by Vital Energi, who brought 3 teams to join our guys in a 5 team tournament. The games were played in a fantastic spirit and

was won by Vital C who were by far the best team, winning all their games. NLPD B did well, getting to the final but couldn't find a way to beat their youthful opponents. The event was well organised, thanks to John R, Steve A & Christine J for all their planning & preparations. Well done to everyone who played & thanks to the friends & family of NLPD who came along to support us. Finally, thank you to Vital Energi for your support & sponsorship of the team for the next 5 years.
